now thats alot of stuff!, I often go thru them after each hunt and keep the good metals (copper/brass) and ditch the rest

I have one of those brass spray nozzles, found in my front yard ,out by the curb.

Just counted out 21 keys from this pile, I cant remember the last time I lost a key (knock on wood) and how is it always just 1, think it would be a whole key chain?

I honestly wonder the same thing. Maybe it fell of a carabiner or something.

Regardless, that's a lot of stuff! Congrats and HH!

I usually go through everything after each hunt. The trash I toss, right away.

That's a lot of stuff! Actually I save the junk after I separate it out by metal type. Someday if I get enough I might try to sell it for scrap....but then again that might just be wishful thinking on my part. :laughing7:

Looks like a trip to the scrap yard maybe? Cool!

I look through my trash bag, for a second time, at the end of the hunt. All trash gets thrown away. I prefer to not bring it home. Corroded zinc pennies go home for the photo shoot, then in the trash. I do have collections of many of the items in the picture that you may include as trash. For example: keys, dog tags, bullets, spoons, clads, etc. . I don't know why I keep them, but why not? I DO BRING QUESTIONABLE ITEMS HOME for further inspection, sometimes, under a microscope. I don't save scrap, although I think it's a good idea.
Here is a sample one of my collections. NH miscellaneous clads, summer 2007.

Twink I also keep the same items you mentioned, same answer.dont know why.a lot of the stuff I worked pretty hard to get out of the ground. And I guess there are so many things that I found that look like nothing and turn out to be some pretty profitable finds after some cleaning.

From your posts I would say you do pretty darn good! Keep up the good digs!

Latch key kids lose there house key.

I have a few 5gallon buckets I keep, brass bucket, copper bucket etc.
It adds up quicker then you would think. I took my last 5er of brass in to the scrap yard and got enough $ back that I stopped at the coin shop and put another couple silver coins into my collection... True trash to treasure lol :P

Ya gotta lotta stuff there! :icon_thumright: :tongue3: I keep my "best" junk items because sometime this year I'm gonna put the groovier junk together to make a JUNK-O-SAURUS FAMILY, and will post a photo of that here. The rest of my junk goes in the trash can before going home. Sadly that includes a lot of rusty sharp stuff dug from the beaches, which can really mess up a kid's feet when running on the beach! One problem is people making bonfires from palets on the beach, then the nails that remain afterward sink under the sand to be a danger. My question is: what to do with live bullets found? I've been throwing them as far out as I can toward the middle of the lake (it's not a swimming or fishing lake, just scenic), probably a lousy solution, but I don't want to carry live bullets around. Have fun & don't accept any wooden nickels, ha-ha! Andi
