Box of halves. Skunk. I did find 11 NIFC coins which I thought was alot for one box. 3 of them were hole fillers.

$40 in cwr and $60 mwr nickels. The usual pre-60 stuff. A box of dimes gave up 2 roosies. A 52-D and a 63-P.

Box of nickels. 20 pre-60 coins including a 1944P war nik. Always nice to find some silver.

Searched a box of cents last week and found 10 wheats which is a better box for me, the oldest was a '36. Also searched a box and a machine bag of halves. No silver but there was a 1981 50 new pence from the box that was an ender and a '87P that I needed for the folder. That came from the bank bag. The bag also had 2 1972D's no FG. One is roached but the other is in nice shape.

Finally found some silver halves after 3 or 4 skunk boxes. Picked up 2 boxes on Friday. First box was a skunk but it did have a 95 proof and a 2008 balboa. The second box gave up 3 silver halves, a '64, '67, and a '69. Also found several NIFC but the '11D, '12P, and '13P were all hole fillers. Just goes to show that when you start to get discouraged, and I was, persistence usually pays off. 20160207_170256.jpgThe proof coin didn't photograph very well.

I made a last minute stop last week to get a box of nickels. I almost skipped it but glad I didn't because I found a '38D and a '51, both of them hole fillers. Also found two war nickels, both '42P's. 1951-P_Obverse.jpg1938-D_Reverse.jpg1938-D_Obverse.jpg
Also picked up two boxes of halves on Friday and pulled five 40%'s, two from the first box and three from the other. 2016-02-14 06.25.46.png

A week ago I searched a box of halves and found 3-40's. My box this week was dry so that ends a 4 box silver steak. My last nickel box didn't have anything special.

Finished up a rather uninteresting box of nickels until the last roll gave up a 1945-D war nickel.

Did a box of halves and a box of nickels last weekend. A little silver is better than none. 20160312_061825_resized.jpg42s_3_13_16_Obverse.jpg42s_3_13_16_Reverse.jpg

This weekends box of halves gave up one 40%. Third box in a row with silver all be it only one per box. Also did my third bag of dimes from my bank. Best bag yet with 4 roosies and 7 Canadian, 4 80%, 1 50% and 2 that are either 80% or 50%. 20160325_164224.jpg20160326_063100.jpg

Over the last two weeks I have searched two boxes of halves, $50 in dimes, $96 in nickels, and $28.50 in cents. Except for the halves they have all been CWR. From that I have found one 40% Kennedy, two war niks, a 42S and a 43S, and 29 wheats, the oldest being a 1910. I also found my first 1990-D nickel that is missing the designers initials.
I am developing an interest in varieties and have found a half dozen (possible but unconfirmed) doubled die cents and a repunched mint mark or two. I'm looking to upgrade my optics and camera equipment to get a better look at the minor details without spending an arm and a leg. Updates to follow.

The rest of my April numbers.
$1070 halves, '64×1, '67×1
$1000 dime bag from the bank machine, '64×4, '63×1,'51×1,'48×1
$100 nickels, 45s and a 36 buffalo
$20 cents, 2 wheats

May #'s.
3 boxes of halves were all skunks. A box of pennies gave up 11 wheats, the oldest being a 1929. The highlight of the month was the box of nickels that gave me my first 2009P!!!

I don't do nickels, but it appears that the 2009 nickel is MUCH harder to find than the cent or dime. Congrats on finding one. I mostly do dimes, but recently my 2009 P&D take per box is only 1-4 per box. They too are drying up just like silver.

Those are very tough to find... I found 8 of them way back when they first came out 25 years ago... and none again until 10 days ago when one turned up in a group of 10 MWRs.

It's hard to find both... 09P Nickels and Dimes are extremely hard for me to find - I have 3 of each to date... I've found 17 09-D Dimes, and 45 09-D Nickels to date.
