Seen these before on here.. think they are laundry tokens. they are slotted so you have to use the stores tokens instead of real cash in the machines. It helps keep down employee theft of cash when all they have access to is the tokens.

I think they were at one time also used as public telephone tokens in Italy.

I did a little research because I also have the same coin. Turns out its just like a chuck E cheese token in Europe, except it can be used in any machine that takes coins. They were made to save actual money in vending and washing machines or pay phones.

Some motels in my area in the 80's gave out one's similar to the guests to access the ice machines.

Never knew it was a token
