Misstrike penny found in roll!!!

I noticed a roll of pennies I got had an unusual "lump"
in it and this is what came out.

Wow; that's got to be the most dramatic misstrike ive ever seen.

That's a pretty cool find. Major offstrike. I have a 1887 offstruck seated dime but nothing to this extent. Maybe 15% offstruck. Nice find.

Thats the neatest coin I have ever seen. I have never seen a mis-strike.
 

You weren't kidding Ty....That thing is just a "little" off I would guess.I hope we can get a little closer on locating the Lime Kiln and the old foundation tommorrow :wink:See you in the A.M. buddy

the 2nd form the top on the left hand side has some of the back printed on the front.

Hi that happens more than you would think, the pennies
that it happens too, is when the collar get lose that holds
the coin in the stamping press when they are doing bags
of coins at the end. They are normally kicked out when they
are doing Rolls.

Yes, it was found in in a bank roll.
And yes, it is not uncommon and not worth a lot,
but it is cool to find and have.
