missouri float trip shooting

Tragic story for sure Ben but for every loon that owns a gun and misuses it and kills someone senselessly there are thousands upon thousands of others that don't. I'll never think its rationale to disarm everyone just because of a fraction of loose cannons. We are planning on getting our carry permits and one of the first things you learn is that you never shoot if someone if they are retreating or backing off on your property even after they have broken in. This guy was admittedly way out of line.

Man flies his plane into ground in apparent suicide. Somebody else could have been killed in the attempt.

This shows how dangerous planes are and they should all be banned. No one should be allowed access to such a potentially lethal weapon.

I figured this makes just as much sense, If I were an activist.

Dude attacks woman with meat cleaver, beats her, sets house on fire, takes her to an ATM and makes here withdraw money.

Those meat cleavers obviously have no place in today's' society, clearly they can be used as a terrorist weapon to inflict huge amounts of bodily harm on individuals.

While I am ranting about the weapons I should include the fists,, and the setting of fires. We must abolish these weapons!

A man found himself behind bars late Sunday night after allegedly threatening to kill his girlfriend and her 6-month-old child, and eventually attacking the woman with a pencil.

Ricardo Arregoyte-Montanez, 24, is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a total of $70,000 in bonds and also has been put on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold, according to jail records. He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of unlawful restraint.

Conroe police officers responded to a domestic disturbance in progress at the Cimarron Park apartment complex on Montgomery Park Boulevard just after 7 p.m., Conroe police Sgt. Joe Smart said.

Dispatchers had originally told officers that someone had broken into the apartment through the front door. When they arrived, however, they found no damage to the door and were unable to get an answer from anyone inside, Smart said.

After radioing back into dispatch, the officer was told that the disturbance could still be heard in the background of the phone call, Smart said. The officer knocked on the door again, and was able to get an answer, but the door was still locked.
With a disturbance allegedly in progress and no clear answer from inside the home aside from noise, the officer kicked the door in, Smart said. Inside, Ricardo Arregoyte-Montanez, 24, was allegedly walking toward the officer before he was placed in handcuffs.

A woman inside the home explained to the officer that Arregoyte had allegedly returned home heavily intoxicated, Smart said. The two got into an argument, when Arregoyte allegedly became aggressive.

Arregoyte went into the kitchen and allegedly brandished a knife, threatening to kill her if she called for help, Smart said. He then allegedly made a motion as if he were going to throw the 6-month-old infant against the wall.

Eventually, Arregoyte went outside to smoke a cigarette, and the woman quickly locked the door to keep him outside.

Arregoyte then allegedly broke in through the bedroom window, Smart said. Back inside the apartment, he allegedly grabbed a pencil and lunged at the woman, who was also trying to protect the infant.

Police found numerous scratches up and down her arms that she claimed were the result of Arregoyte allegedly assaulting her, Smart said.

And normally I don't care about What happens in London, As they make their own bed. But I can't believe they haven't outlawed dumbells over there. Don't they realize the mayhem that ensues when an unlicensed weight set is issued to someone that has no idea how to use it?!

I have an Assault Pencil...it is metal, has three different size interchangeable points and many different colors...I figured I should get one before they start requiring background checks, and refuse me ownership because I have a history of hideous and terrible handwriting.

That happens so often in this country that most people on this forum, (and everywhere else), believe it is common knowledge! So why take the time to post what is already common knowledge? The sky is blue, the grass is green, two plus two equals four, and thousands upon thousands of people protect and defend themselves every year with legally owned firearms...I usually have lots of respect for opposing arguments...but that one? ...really??

Let's not get carried away.

It was a tongue in cheek response to the posters above who decided to take it upon themselves to post articles where people had gotten hurt or died and then make mocking comments about gun control "activists".

My comment was most certainly not an opposing argument. I was actually trying to defend myself against threadcrappers and point out their hypocrisy.

WHOA FREAKING NELLY"S KNOCKING PAJAMAS! ..What a performance of ASSAULT BANJOS!!!!

Thanks, point taken.

the biggest fallacy in the entire second amendment position{by many} is that the second amendment means a person can carry an use a weapon against another American...

the second amendment was created to give all people the right to keep an bear arms in defense of the emerging nation...

two different attitudes...one is the correct version.

There is no qualifier in the 2nd amendment. 2nd was so Americans could defend their selves from all forms of evil including tyranny.

So, now that the nation has "emerged" I suppose we no longer need the freedom of religion, speech or the press? The 2nd does not have an expiration date attached.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, <<<<<<nothing about individual weapon use.... security of a free state...that includes everyone.

the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.<<<<< for the above purpose...not individual defense or offensive behavior.

Please point out the line in the 2nd amendment that states firearms are not to be used for self defense.

Read Amendment 10. If rights are not reserved to federal government, nor denied to the states, they belong to the states and to the people ...

Everyone carried a firearm for personal protection at the time of the drafting of the Bill of Rights, why would our fore fathers think their descendants would become so naive and stupid as to have to spell it out that you have a right to protect yourself, your family and your property.

Our fore fathers never knew how naive and gullible so many of their descendants would become when it came to willingly surrendering the rights and freedoms they fought and died to earn.
