Missing in action.....

So few WW2 vets left. My wife's grandfather went through D day- the bulge and got frost bite on his feet and was sent back to Paris for several weeks and then to a hospital in England. He is still alive and doing well.
I bought a Hitler youth knife from a shop in England in 1996 and a few years back I gave him the knife. He was happy to have it. He had some stuff he had picked up from the battle field but it was stolen from him when he was on his back in the hospital. People in the rear were souvenir hungry.
