I had a local show me some historic spots close by.There was a big 3 day french and Prussian battle here in 1793.It was great information but he did not want to stay for the hunt, he just wanted to show me some spots. I hit a couple of the spots and only found one musket ball and a worn out coin from the forty's. The main battle field was planted so I ended up a a couple of miles or so away. I am going to try again soon ,hope I can get a little closer to where the action was. :). Good luck and happy hunting.

Birdman, it looks like you've found a site with a lot of potential. Keep us posted. Good Huntin' !

I tried again and found a nice thimble and two coins from the twenties but not even one musket ball. ??? I hope I can try again next weekend and hopfully get closer to the main battle site.I have been on the web trying to find old maps and such and have not found any thus far. Hope I can find it before the snow starts.

Nice site with potential! Check all around the sides of the battle field, it's probably large, good luck! From what I have been told, those smaller types of battles started out fierce with gun shots but quickley went into hand to hand combat. The villagers didn't have many weapons and they really did use pitch forks and axes or whatever they had to defend themselves. I don't know if I'll make it over your way before it freezes, it's a bummer having several great detecting sites on the other side of the country. You should consider detecting the upper hill at Frauenburg castle, I'm sure there was a guard tower there, it over looks the whole valley. And the lower part of Frauenburg close to the river, this is where the town would have flowed to when it was destroyed by the flood in the 1700s. HH, Mike

Frauenburg is on the list to hunt but I was kinda waiting on you sence you can read all the signs.LOL.Hope you can make it over this way!The battle field has tons of poteinal ,I just have to find the right spot without being chased with pitch forks.HH

Good luck on your site. Sounds like it could be holding some great finds.
Got the ID Excel up and running, and just bought a CZ 3D. Maybe I'll be able to get a review in for both. We'll see how it goes. HH
