Minnesota Bodies of Water

Has anyone had any sucess in/around Minnesota bodies of water? I have tried various beaches around central Minnesota with some sucess. I was pondering with the flooding we are expecting this spring around the state if things on the bottom of rivers actually move significantly enought to check flood plains after the water resides?

I think metal objects (coins & rings) won't be moved by flooding. Generally flooding brings silt that will bury heavy objects.
