Minelab repair center in Pennsylvania

I am currently having an issue with them myself. I have a 3030 10"coil that I just bought 4 mos ago that went dead. Sent it back and they said it was covered, but then they said that they had to "order parts", for a full replacement?? But, they said they had no timeline on when that would be as they are waiting on parts. Seriously? They don't have a new 10" 3030 coil around? Second most popular Minelab detector and they don't have the most common coil they supply in stock?
Meanwhile, I wait. Hope I don't miss out on the summer beach traffic.
When I worked in the Minelab repair center we were always waiting on parts and it could take months to get them as they are shipped by boat, as well as back-ordered many times, it was the worst part of the job..
 

Places run out of parts. Look how long it took for company's to get detectors shipped to America, I am mostly a Deus user now. Not because of company's repair centers but because of the weight of machoines. I would not rate any company higher then Minelabs repair center in Pa i have used them a few times in the past and have ALWAYS BEEN VERY HAPPY with there service !!!
 

Minelab customer service lacking it will catch up in time, in time sales will slow, if you can’t offer sufficient customer service than your finished especially when things are still under warrant.

Minelab is still offering good customer service. all are dealing with shortages.
 

I’m done with it, obvious electronics proble that doesn’t fall under user abusing, it’s my friend, if was me wouldnt support them again, third rate detectors, behind xp deus and now notka makro.
You still have not told us what Minelab told your friend was the reason for not covering it under warranty even though I have asked you multiple times, why is that, what was the reason?

I have to admit , I may be one of the lucky ones ( So Far no problems after 4 yrs ) .Those with Equinox Issues , I have been chalking it up to new technology and that may be so - its just very unfortunate that so many are paying both the price and the frustration . I now want to use my machine in the water , but after hearing so many horror stories I am reluctant . Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I should prep my machine before trying it in the water .
I could use some suggestions from those who really know .

You have not said what the reason was that Minelab gave for not fixing it under warranty.

Amazon has about 40, but Minelab can't supply me one!!
I would buy one from Amazon but they are big $$$.
A 10" coil is a standard coil for the CTX. Why don't they keep a few in stock?? I am so pissed at Minelab. They told me they were going to get them in this week, well it has come and gone. Broken promises.

We waited months for Minelab parts deliveries and that was before the virus and the Supply chain disruptions.

It isn't just detector supplies, it is all kinds of products. I had a hard time buying a new freezer from Lowes, every one I was interested in was out of stock when I asked when they would be in stock they just shrugged their shoulders and said who knows, a month, or months.
 

I have never had a problem with Minelab service. I think the complainers here don't understand that the repair center in PA is not Minelab but a private company who got the contract to do their repairs and all repairs have to be approved by Minelab and parts purchased from Minelab. Like TH says, they have to have given a reason for denying warranty repair to the owner, why 49er can't tell us is beyond me. Smells funny.
 

Well to end the story about my friends minelab equinox 600, they required him to pay 350.00 to so called repair his unit under warranty which was not abused etc, I just want to let you no he can afford any detector currently available , however yesterday he decided not to buy another minelab detector because of all the muss fuss there wonderful warranty department gave him he paid and he’s done with them. Food for thought folks, you do what you want, the company does make nice equipment but the equinox has a few problems that made future customers think twice about quality and service, good day.
 

49er, that is not the truth. I know the full story, the detector was broken from abuse, that is why it was not covered under warranty. This thread is closed.
