Minelab manticore let the rumors begin

Yes merril from nyc posted the specs from kellyco, great, also there is a depth cap of 5 watts he said, I always wondered if the fcc regulated the depth on commercial detectors, if Iā€™m wrong prove it please

It's not really the FCC that causes the transmitt limit, the more power a detector transmits into the ground the lowder the signal from the ground is and it drowns out the signals from the targets.

There is a sweet spot on power transmission that gives the best bang for the buck, enough power to see deep targets, but not so much that the ground noise/interference drowns out the target sounds, most detectors transmitt at the 5-6 volts range through a voltage regulator as the sweet spot.

In the little teaser video from Minelab the guy states that it has a lot of power. As to the point about $$$= finds.... its true! Its not just about depth, its about tweaking the machine to the soil (amongst many other factors) and thats something that budget machines simply cant do! Why did Tesoro go broke - they work just as well as a 3030 - Right? Why doesnt everyone use a Go Find- they work just as well as a 3030 right?
I had a SD2000 back in the day and a XT17000, both great detectors but $$$ did = better finds. Sure great finds have been made by budget detectors but there is a difference.

Oh, and I doubt that the TRULY EPIC finds would ever be shared ....let alone posted here:laughing7:

I think the first thing that needs to happen is to decide do we call it a "manti" or a "core"? How about an E-TRAC II? I want my Ferrous and Conductive numbers both displayed!
I know what my vote would be... And it doesn't contain the word "man"... heh

Yes, same šŸ˜œ

Heck I want people to find epic finds my goodness not old as dino bone obviously there not metal, jealous maybe but never stupid wishing people bad luck, this dam hobby has a lot of trial and error most error as in junk, maybe they should work more on separation or size of item vs other very little significant changes. Nope please I want to see banner epic finds share them you donā€™t have to tell us where they where, so Iā€™m a good guy, thankyou

I'm going to buy it based on my successful experience with the Nox 800. My 800 has years and hundreds of hours on it. Not sure my area's poor agrarian and frugal Puritans left me any banner finds though..
