Hi everyone I wanted to hear your comments about the Minelab Excalibur. I want to get another machine either the Minelab or Aquapulse but need the depth. I was going with the Infinium but heard to many horror stories about that machine so I think I will be staying away from that machine!! When I go in the water I don't mind finding some junk because I don't want to lose good targets!! And it keeps it alittle interesting and not too boring!! With the Minelab are you losing depth because of the discrimination? How much do you think is being lost? How much depth can I expect with this machine, I am finding things very deep at my beach and need something that has the depth!! Has anyone not used discrimination when hunting? What do you guys think of the Aquapulse? I heard from the company the this detector goes really deep since it is a PI and everyone doing shipwreck hunting swears by this machine!! Well, hope to hear your wonderful comments!! Aloha ;D

I very rarely ever use disc on my excal or my sov gt's, and if i do, never above 1 to 1.5. With the null on iron i don't need or want disc. if I disc the bottle caps and or pop tops I will be taking a good chance of losing some gold and at $900 an oz, i just don't want to do that.

As far as a PI, I don't dive, so I can't use a PI under water, and I'm too old old to dig holes to China for bobby pins on the beaches I hunt .

I have pulled targets up at 12+ with both my excal and sov gt.

Good luck, and good hunting......

I don't know what horror stories you've heard about the Infinium??? It's a great machine and I do believe no PI comes close to it !!!! I thought from all the posts you've written recently and the replies received, it was noted that hunters pretty much only use PI machines in Hawaii due to the volcanic hot rocks and ash there. I saw that you use a White's surf PI pro machine and from everything I've heard, most use that machine in your area too. All the posts I've read over time from hunters in Hawaii said that VLF machines don't do too well in that environment and that's why they go with the PI machines!!!

I wish you luck in your search for the machine you're seeking!

Thanks ;)
