Does it void the Minelab Manufacture Warranty to have the Sun Ray Probe installed on my new E Trac. Also is the Sun Ray Probe worth it. How is the Sun Ray Probe installed and can I still switch coils easily. I currently use the Garrett Pro Pointer but often take my headphones off to use the Pro Pointer. I like how the Sun Ray Probe works like the detector. Any input will be welcomed.

Thanks

hello RiverRat3
buy another any upper shaft with angle cutted on the top to install sunray probe and send them to install or buy from sunray with all ready installed on the upper shaft I think they have.
sunray probe have pluses and minuses compare with pro pointer. minuses is makes detector more heavy, but when you detecting you can keep probe in pocket and its will be the same weight like original etrac, except switch box and few inches additional cable, sunray ads more connections-- possibility to broke, and sunray not cheap.
pluses is that you can hear in the hole target between iron and coil connection is outside for coil change, but the same time this is not very good if you detect in rain because coil connections is not water tide and if watter will go in to the coil connections, detectors will star to falsing and not working properly until its dried, but you can buy some sort rain covers for switch box, but I never try any one. good luck Stasys

No, does not void the warranty because that only thing that happens is the probe being attached to the upper shaft. It is definitely worth it, and as long as a little extra weight doesn't bother you, you will wish you had bought it sooner. Sunray and the dealers sell them already mounted on the upper, so you have to include the cost of an upper shaft, but that's a good idea anyway because you can't bypass the probe.... meaning if your probe had an issue, and you had no extra upper, you're done because you can't plug the coil directly into the housing without going through the probe. I once made a mess of my Sunray to keep hunting, only to realize it was actually an issue with my detector! As for a coil change it's no different than any other unit and is easier if you already have the coil on a lower shaft.

Thanks for the info. I think I may get myself an early Christmas present.
