military shield please help ID

Found this in my front yard this morning, its 1-3/8" long and 7/8" wide at the top. It has some green and silver paint on it. The back looks like it was a pin back. I haven't found any markings on it. It looks a lot like a military uniform DI. Any help would be great, thanks Dean

See the slot? You are looking at a saddle Shield in the photo--not a harness boss. As I said earlier in my replies, saddle shields are 1.) Larger and 2.) Slotted

The bosses are smaller decorations for the ends of straps.

No, harness bosses did not appear on saddles. If you can find a photo of one on a saddle I'll eat my words.

Such a use would be Highly Unique.
