Military button?

My house dates to 1760 and I found this on the property. Can anyone tell me anything about this button?

Looks like a 3 piece General Staff button to me. The style you have dates from 1832-1902. I am having trouble making out the front of your button. Try taking a picture of it laying on a plain flat surface in natural daylight but not direct sunlight. When you hold the button your camera tends to focus on your fingers causing the button image to be a little blurry.
