Got back out to my permission that's been recently cleared and was able to get..
1830-1850 horstmann new York federal navy officers button. A large musketball, hopefully rev, but who knows. Could of been a hunter. That's now the 3rd ball to come out of there. 2 years ago, over 100 came out from other detectorist along with rev buttons..drool.
1888 Indian and what I Believe to be a nipple button without the nipple? Back shank is gone but it was iron.

what is the diameter of the musket ball? do you have calipers? this is necessary to ID. nice button and india. never get sick of digging indians.
 

nice IH, lead looks like shotgun slug, try peroxide on the button, then shoot up close on front & back :icon_thumright:
