Hit a feeder creek to a feeder creek to the river yesterday 1-7-21. Lincoln County, Missouri. Same area I found the cobb blade. I notice this piece in the eroded bank. I pluck it out. I gotta think it is a artifact, but I'm never sure. Any thoughts are welcomed.
Also wondered if anyone might mention the material type,
Thanks
Suppose to be "middle of a point?" in title

No doubt that's a center section on a lanceolate point of some sort. I see crinoid fossils in the chert so I'd guess it's Burlington but could be another. Burlington very common in parts of MO. Nice eagle too. Gary

Thanks, I was happy I decided to get it out of the eroding bank. Out of a table full of rocks this was the only piece.
Burlington was my first thought, but it is always my first thought.
The eagle is only worth its weight in gold, and I hope I never come to the point of having to melt it, thought I'd make it work for its room and board.
