🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Mid 18th Century Button with Swivel Shank

I found this 2 piece 20mm button at a mid 18th Century site yesterday. The shank moves a complete 180 degrees. It should be from around mid 1700's but I've never seen this type of shank before. Can anyone here identify this type of button and where it may have come from?

I have a civil war eagle Infantry button that I dug that has that shank.....canr remember what it was called.

I believe it is called an inserted shank...here are a few references, although I believe they can be older than 1918 as the one reference puts it.
