Metal Handles Very Colorful, To what, I don't Know

I dug up one half of this colorful, slightly ornate metal handle and about 3 weeks later I found the other half, albeit slightly bent. They were at least 7 inches down.

They're about 3 1/2" long and about 1 1/8" at the widest points. I was thinking maybe a hairbrush handle but that's just speculation. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it. I'm also amazed that the paint is still in such good shape. Of course, they don't make em' like they used to.

I really have no clue. Any suggestions, hints, clues or answers are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

it could be but when you hold it in your hand it feels like a handle to something.

Then again, you can't be too quick to assume anything because things are not always what they appear to be.

The whatsits are part of the fun. When all the different things a group of people have seen are combined it helps a lot.
I,m wondering where the blade is. L.o.l..

I've hunted the area pretty extensively and haven't found the blade yet. I'll double check the exact spot and all around next time I hike back to that area.
