Saw an episode of "Cash and Treasures" on the Travel Channel this afternoon. A guy named Steve Arnold was finding meteorites using a metal detector he made himself out of PVC and lawnmower wheels. It was a 4'x8' rectangle he towed behind an ATV. In the episode I watched he found a 93lb. meteorite that went to Dallas to be sold for $120,000. Previously to that he had found the world record meteorite, weighing in at 1400lbs. and worth more than a million bucks. Here's a couple of links to the find and show:

The episode that followed was about finding sunken treasure in the Florida Keys. They focused on the Mel Fisher finds and the wreck of the Atocha. Never watched the TC before, and never heard of this show but it was pretty cool. They were advertising new episodes beginning tonight at 10:00pm Eastern (9:00pm Central) if anyone has cable/satellite and wants to watch them. The show is all about finding cash and treasures, as the name indicates.
