I just love those roman coins ;D there are so many buried in England that they do not seem to have much value, unless they are the rare ones. I have two roman coins in my coin collection, but not the rare ones >:( but I love them anyway.

God bless

Trust me Roman gold coins are really extremely rares . if not i would not have posted it in this thread of course . this one has been estimated 2800 $ but i don't wanna sell it and i wouldn't do so even for 10000 $ . besides i've got a hundred of bronze ones in poor conditions that don't have any value . but no matter the value after all, a Roman coin is a Roman coin ...

The one's I was talking about with no value are the one's they dig up in the pots by the thousands. These are made of bronse I think. These are also the one's that you buy on e-bay for just about nothing.
But saying this, they are still the best coins around ::) if they could talk they would tell us many great stories.

God bless

You have no idea how fortunate you are to be able to hunt in an area with so much history. Rich history that goes back so far!!! The thought of finding a Roman coin is staggering to me and when it is said that they are sometimes not worth much is mind boggling to me. Where I live, the mid to late 1800's would be an excellent find.
For all the sake of all the U.S.A. hunters ( in our 230 year old country), please take full advantage of your area and keep us posted of your finds & thank you for sharing.
Some day, I hope to travel to Europe and search the W.W. I battlefields. I read the other day that a team of archaeologist uncovered a whole British tank. Do you have any information on this find or any others regarding W.W. I sites? If you do, I would be very appreciative of any details you could send.

Great job and thank you for your post!!!

thanks the hammer ,

I got to say I didn't hear about this discovery . It was long ago ? ? anyway I'm gonna try to find out more about it on French websites and I 'll let you know if I get something

...hmm... ?be carefull cause ,at least in France, this kind of research is strictly forbidden and extremely dangerous too . the fact is if you seek on those aeras you have more chances to come across a shell then a tank. This is a matter of fact . and personally I've already found a few shells , merely buried a few inches deep in the ground ...believe me it is a strange feeling ...really I prefer finding a nice roman coin or medieval buckle .

Of course I 'll keep you up to date on my next outings .
;)
