My nephew Daniel just celebrated his first birthday on August 4th at Children's Primary Hospital in Salt Lake City. Danny was born with type I Spinal Muscular Atrophy (the number 1 genetic killer of children under the age of 2) My brother, his wife, and my parents have spent several weeks at the Ronald McDonald House. Not only does this place offer families a comfortable place to stay, it also helps families connect with other families that are going through similar things with their own children. I've heard so many stories of heartbreak and of hope coming from these familes over the past month or so. Although I don't much care for the McDonald's corporation and how they influence so much of our society, I think that Ronald McDonald House is an amazing place. I'm fairly new to this hobby, and my finds to date aren't much, but I would be willing to donate my clad and more to support Ronald McDonald House and the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Foundation.
