While wondering around the woods looking for colonial coins I came across a pile of old golf cart batteries. They were pretty large and wondered if there was any value in the lead. Since I play golf I went to visit my friend who owns a golf car business. He said he would give me $10 a piece. An hour later he had some old batteries and I had $60.

I only picked up $40 last year in coins. This year I am way ahead.

Now that is easy money!!!!!!

you helped clean up the environment at the same time. cool. money is the best incentive for that.

I am not sure what they were worth in the "scrap business", but, given the price of gasoline and the close proximity of his business I figured $10 a piece was worth it.

Good question though. If there were more batteries I would have certainly looked into that.

Now if I could only find some "scrap" gold!

Nice score, Its always a good Idea to keep your eyes open for other potential treasures. Especially when your doing the right thing all around. Thumbs Up!

ITs also amazing how fast lead bullets, brass casings and even bits of scrap iron alluminum add up when metal detecting/dredging etc
Keep your good gold/ good coin finds and sell the scrap junk.

Putting money in your pocket is never a bad thing!

lead is up in value these days -- $60 bucks is $60 bucks ---nice score plus good for the enviroment to boot.

Thank you all for the good words.
