Messing around in my yard

I got home from work today and just for the hell of it I started detecting my front lawn found a bunch of new coins then I found this 1818 large one cent it looks like it’s been in a fire it’s odd because my house was built in the 80s and there’s old bricks in the holes I dug i guess maybe dirty fill was brought in or I need to do some research about my property pretty neat find in my own yard

What a great find! I'm still searching for my first large cent. I hunted my front yard and the only thing I found was that the cable company didn't bury their cable deep enough!

The first thing I would do is check the history around your hood and especially your lot that the house is on currently.

There has to be some history regarding your property?

I would research your lot and the surrounding area! Either fill brought in or a very early house once was there!

If it turns out to be an old area, don't forget to ask your neighbors if you can hunt their yards!
