tim is a good guy, come on, if any of us could do the volume he does, we would...

Tim might be a good guy. He might also do irresponsible things when he CRH'es. One does not preclude the other.

It takes more than doing a lot of volume to be a responsible CRH'er. One does not dependent on the other any more than one precludes the other. They are independent characteristics.

I think it is apparent that Merc was 100% out of line in posting identifying details about TZ. As far as it being illegal, hardly. According to Merc, he was reciting public record searches not "personal" information (identifying? yes; damaging? maybe; unscrupulous? yes; personal? no; illegal? no). Is somebody going to now post the contact information for some obscure authority on cyber terrorism?

Merc violated multiple rules, the most serious was personal threats with hints of violence, that is what got him banned. His actions since his first ban has shown his true colors and character and just justifies the ban even more.

Thanks a lot Solid Rolls....now I have that song stuck in my head :BangHead: hahahaha

You can't ride in my little red wagon, the handles broken and the axle's draggin'...

Lesson #1, dont post anything on the web that you wouldnt want a murderer to try and figure out about your identity...like almost your full name and location.

Most killers are charmers, and then they snap because they have no restraint. Merc Crazy fits the exact profile. Sickening what he posted, and truely disturbing. Glad the fool is gone.

Maybe he will visit Tim and Tim will take care of him

Most on this thread don't know me.. I've not posted like I use to... the last couple of years... but, I will tell you threats are not to be tolerated... there are a good group of mods on here who will look after everyone! Oh buut, I am going to make a effort to start posting again I miss it !

And they say women are the crazy ones. Not.

Is there a way to ban the discussions on coin marking or coin painting? Those always seem to be the threads that start the wars.

this question is vauge. i started a thread about colorized coins that you can get from 3rd party mints. do these fall under coin marking or coin painting.

Don't pick the request apart.

Colorized coins are not 'marked' coins as defined by the forum.

And no, Toned coins do not count as being marked either - even though, it could be construed as a 'Mark'.

Free speech does not apply - this is a forum on Treasure hunting - not a town square.

i say we just do what we always did for the past 7 years, sdtart out any particular thread, people comment, some discussions are more touching then others, but afterall, this is a forum and we can express our feelings, right?

i got a marked dollar bill back in change today at my dump bank marked with a counterfeit detector pen, is that considered defacing currency???? it's wrong to write on coins, but how come it isn't wrong to write on bills?

...i do understand about determine if the bill is real or not, but it is still defacing currency.

my 2 wheat cents, hh

The answer is no, we are only talking about coins painted by hand by CRH hunters..... The restriction on threads about painting coins is only temporary as well as I have already mentioned...

This is off-topic from the original thread, but I'll respond. Yes, it is considered defacing currency. If and when the bills get processed at a branch of the Federal Reserve, they will be "rejected" and marked for destruction. The account of the depositor still is credited, but the bill will be destroyed. There is a technician that sits at the one machine that destroys each bill. The bills are fed into the machine and the machine shreds them. The shredded bills are given out as souvenirs if you take a Federal Reserve tour (I highly recommend everyone to do so). What isn't packaged up for souvenirs must be landfilled as it contains cotton and can't be recycled. So when the clerks swipe a bill with pens, think of the added cost of the processing of that bill.

Now, many bills aren't sent back to a branch as they are essentially reprocessed at the local level.

thanks for clarifying DD, my uncle worked at theNY federal reserve and brought home tons of souveniers, i have a nice large "brick" of shredded currency, it's always cool to look at! hh
