Hi! Newbie here!
Note: I am at work at the moment, and will post pics later.
I believe I have found melted lead. It just looks like a melted piece of a dull gray color. I came to the conclusion of melted lead, because it was emitting a low tone on my detector, and it the dirt around it was mixed with charcoal. It's definitely solid and doesn't bend or dent. Anybody have any tricks they use to identify lead?
Thanks! :tongue3:

Thanks! I'll take a look when I get the chance!

Build a fire, drink a beer, throw the can in he fire, and BINGO -- a Budweiser nugget.

The easiest ways to ID lead, lead is noticeable heavier by volume compared to other metals, it is soft enough to scratch with your fingernail, and you can write with it like a penile.

There is a mineral hardness scale test too. You could have found plumbing lead or lead solder alloy which is harder than pure lead but still has some of the same traits. A very common find as is aluminum.
