The looks of the cap reminds me of a screw cap off of a syrup bottle.
Something to do with barrel aged??
I really have no idea, but maybe a direction to look.

It kind of looks like a cap to a metal container.

Was wondering if around the cap is any lettering besides just on top?On some caps it will say who bottled it down around the knurled edge.I was thinking along the root beer line myself.

Could be an old whiskey/bourbon barrel tap depicted also.
