Can anyone give an idea as to the value on this tooth?? And does that one side with the solid ribbed formation I guess you'd call it, detract from its value? its about 2 3/4 inch long at an angle and about 2 inches wide at the base, the chips are shown in the photo's. I didn't find this, but got it in a box of goodies at a yard sale.. THANKS!!

Im no expert on teeth but one of that size and condition might go for more than one hunderd dollars. I may be wrong though. great garage sale find. ill give you ten bucks for it :laughing7:

100.00 would be a real good garage sale find! lol thanks on the offer too! lol..

First, let's look at the size. At 2" wide, you have a fairly common sized tooth. Usually those that fall between 2" and 5" are. These are less prized by collectors and thus less valuable.

The grey/black color would indicate that this tooth most likely came from the southeastern United States. Also a common color, which will hurt the value. The most common are black, grey and brown.

The shape is offset to one side so this is most likely a tooth from the side of the mouth. The large, almost perfectly triangular front teeth are the ones with the most value.

The lack of a sharp point, lack of serrated edges, and significant damage to the front of the tooth will also seriously hurt the value.

I would probably value this at around $10-20.

value has dropped!! lol.. oh well, better luck if theres a next time,, thanks! but then who's right here?? may never know ehhh?? thanks tho.. root

Take a look on ebay and you'll see them selling now for between $30 - $40. :icon_thumright:
