Hello!

I found this medal or medallion while detecting in Corvallis Oregon yesterday. It's is kinda big ~ 35 mm in diameter. The front has an image of an Indian Head, and reads, "FIRST AMERICAN INSURANCE CO., P.O. BOX 1965, SALEM OREGON". And the back side has an image of wheat stocks and crossed arrows. The middle is an open area that looks like something should be ingraved there, or something? Anyone ever seen one of these before? How old is it? What were they used for?

THANKS!
Neil

Here's one on Ruby Lane for $8.00

This Old Copper or Brass Token is from Salem, Oregon and was given away by First American Life Insurance Co. It has their mailing address: P O Box 1965 Salem Oregon, around the token along with their Company Name. It has a picture of an American Indian for their Trademark and on the back, it shows (2) Sheaves of Wheat with (2) Arrows. It measures 2 3/8" in length.

Oh yeah! That's the same thing that I found! But, it doesn't have any info about it! DANG!
