Well I hope not anyways. I made it to Huntington beach state park in SC talk to the ranger and will be turning my permit in tomorrow to start my hunt on the beach. He said I just needed to watch out for alligators. WHAT. Did he say alligators??? Hmmmm I hope they don't go on the BEACH? Do they like saltwater? Maybe he pulling my leg but I don't want to lose my LOL!

Alligators aren't moving around much this time of year, but you may see some catching a few rays near or in the ponds there. They usually don't hunt visitors in the winter. They have been spotted in the surf occasionally. Again, summertime. Good luck!

If one grabs you toss your detector on the beach so it doesn't get wet.

Ill wrestle a gator over a gold ring and turn it into a suitcase......

If you see one run your defector over it to see if there is any gold inside. lol

A few years ago in summer they removed a 12 footer from the beach. They do occasionally go in the salt water. HB lagoon is full of gators.

Just be aware and don't concentrate on what's coming through your headphones. Yes, I have seen them swimming in the ocean.

For the most part they don't hang around the salt water. Not to say you might see one. Get that CZ21 out and let her rip!!
