FWIW that is a paraphrase from history . When Charlamagne was to do battle with Suliman he was approached by one of his generals . The general told him that some of the enemy were Christians and were even allowed to practice Christianity . He asked how they would tell them apart so as not to kill a fellow Christian . The reply was "Kill them all , the Lord will know his own."
