Me and my dads 1st time out...ever!!

I got my ACE 250, and my dad just got his whites prizm 4 today. We went to the grove by my house for maybe 2 hours. Had alot of hits, alot of them bouncing from coins to junk. So didnt dig those as i found its usually junk. Seems the SOLID hits were coins. I was only digging solid hits, and so was my dad. We found the following....

1969 dime
2002 dime
1995 nickel
2000 nickel
1986 quarter
1998 penny
1987 penny

Not bad for our 1st time out. Everything but 1 penny was dug.

What should i soak them in to clean them up? I dont have a tumbler yet.

This was how I got started in detecting about 12 years ago. I was looking for a fun hobbie for my 12 year old son and myself to do. One weekend while at a cub scout camp we met two guys from the local detecting club who had brought 7 detectors for the scouts to use. Well
while my son and his troop went to do the other activities, I stayed to look at all the neat finds they had displayed on the table. The next week my son & I bought a Bounty Hunter for around $80. I don't remember what we found the first time out , But we had a blast being together learning to detect.

Awesome! I love detecting with my son, and I loved detecting with my dad. Besides fishing I can't think of another hobby that is more satisfying for a father and son. I wish you both lot's of luck and I can't wait to see the posts of your finds! HH!
