Me and my 11year old son both found silver today!

We only started detecting in April and we are limited to school nights after homework is completed and weekends that he doesn't play in baseball tournaments so I consider us still new with this hobby.
Today we both found Silver! He found a beautiful 1941 mercury dime and I found a 1951 quarter! Happy dance!

The really neat thing about it all is time with your son. The research can actually be one of the most fun parts of the hobby. A day in the history section of the library together may find you guys the magic bullet sooner or later. Most libraries have a section dedicated to local history.

It was awesome to see him find the merc! He was jumping up and down and shouting "I found a Merc!" repetitively. If anyone saw him they would have surely looked at him funny. Yes, priceless for sure Love this hobby.

Well, at least he is 11 ....When I found my first Merc I was doing the same thing....and Im 34

Congrats on your "Double Silver" find the two of you! That is awesome! And that dance your son was doing is the "Happy Dance" we all do it, just some more gracefully then others. Thanks for clarifying that Digging-N-Dumps/Scott. I sort of think that I'm a minority as a a Mom that loves detecting. It's ok though. I can understand the assumption.
