Me and a buddy found these this afternoon. He found his about 100yds from where I found mine. They where about 11" deep on the side of a steep bank in front of an old that dates back to civil war. Any help iding these would be great. They are made of brass or copper







The more I look at it kinda reminds me of a piece off of an old bed post?

I think your guess is correct ...although other things besides bedframes can have a brass railing. The finials/top in the photo (below) would fit on top of a base section, as shown in your photo.
