This is an extremely small point but why the coil cable arrangement? It looks a bit awkward where it exits the box. If I'm seeing that picture correctly it looks like trouble while brush hunting.

yep you can see the cable is a bad arrangement, unlike others it runs to the side, and also its way tight,, but guess that could be sorted out,, .

I'll bet some bright individual will take one less wrap around the shaft and duct tape that loose cable to the grip! If in douibt, duct tape it! Monty

the MXT is a 14khz so not much difference there,, i reckon its just a machine to keep up with the new trend,, classic id shaft stem,, mxt lcd screen apart from new decal,, two control switches,, and runs on 14.7khz,, its gonna find small gold ok i should not doubt,, o well time will tell,,, lol yes monty duck tape he he he!!!`always works,, mind you when you that price for a new machine thats supposed to be a winner in the mid range how can it be,,, these things should be right,, cant see how they over looked that,, with the cable like that,,..

Whats that, looks to be round thing, sticking down an inch or two under the meter? Maybe the toggles mounted there. I wonder why they haven't started running the cable through the stem like Minelab. It makes it clean and no worrys about snags. HH

YAAWWWWN!!

A big too-doo about what is essentially a lobotomized MXT with tone ID. Instead of adding tone ID to the MXT & smoothing out the disc. mode, which would have turned an already hot detector into a truly killer machine, they bring out the Matrix (Hey Keannu... wanna do a Whites commercial?). It's also another heavy pig with the underarm pod. The new Minelab detectors will probably walk all over it & deservedly so. Thing is, the MXT is essentially a software based detector that should be easily modified to have the same features as the Matrix. Now, if whites would come out with an MXTplus for $50-$100 more it would make more sense. They could also change the threshold control into a dual purpose notch position/threshold adjustment knob. Have the disc. mode automatically turn into tone ID silent search. With the notch then positioned wherever a trash target lies on the scale, I could see that it would be the machine to beat. Now, to top it off, if they could get rid of the underarm pod & have everything encompassed by the displeay pod, it would be the icing on the cake. Too little, too late Whites. End of rant.. Willy.

i'll be trying it out whilst iam in florida in two weeks time,, but i'll be sticking with my minelab,,

I sure wish whites would get on the ball and create a new P.I. machine that would be one up on the Garrett Infinium. If they would I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Supposedly, one of the big detector manufacturors has bought up the rights to the Pulse Devil. Wish I knew who & when they plan to release it. I'd make sure that I had the money for it. In my ground, PI's rule and a true discriminating PI would make me THE KING!! .. or is it .. THE POPE!! Nawww, I'd be KING AND POPE !!! or, at the very least, somewhat delusional. Whatever, I've been waiting for a couple of years already for the release of the Pulse Devil. Last I heard, they were doing some defacto field tests up in Ak this past summer. ..Willy.?

Does not impress me, they should really get rid of that black box thing under the arm rest and work on making everything more slim and light, aleast they did one thing good and that was add a beach mode..but how good is the beach mode we will see later.

I hope garrett makes a way better metal detector in this same price range as this one..they could call it the Ace600

I thought that I read some where that since its in the mid-range, the GTP 1350 should be its equivalent.

Why does White's stick with those silly metal control boxes? The cable setup is asking for trouble it looks like. Without a lifetime warranty this could cost us money. Will I use one? Heck yeah! I learn them all and then decide what to give to my brother in law to use.

HH,
Sandman

Had no trouble with the cord on the MXT I had, but man o man, is it ever HEAVY!! Not too incredibly bad when scanning flat ground, but if you ever have to lift the detector (like for searching a steep hill or a cut-bank) your arm is gonna feel like dropping off after a few minutes. The M6 looks to be no better. ...Willy.
