This morning I went to a spot that I have been to a bunch of times before, usually with Cheffer and Secondstar and we have all found a lot of silver and old coins in this area. Close to an old town near my house, I myself have found 9 coins in there including recently a Capped Bust half dime and a Seated dime.

Today I went out alone, and right off the bat found a Barber and SLQ in the same hole! Very happy with that, then about 20 minutes later I got a good deep signal on the ORX, not great but clean, and at about 8 inches pulled out this beauty:

Pine Tree Silver! The Holy Grail! Obverse is not so great, afraid to touch it any more:

It looks like it might be a full shilling that has been trimmed, any thoughts appreciated. Just can't believe it, we always joke every time we go out that one of us will find one of these rare beauties. Can't wait too get it graded,

Not sure why this tree shilling is not up top yet. First one on here since I found mine nearly two years ago

IMO, a pine tree coin should be automatic banner, provided the find meets the rules. I don't care if there is a pine tree threepence already up there. All we can do is nominate such a find. Although we call it a "banner vote", it is more a nomination for such a historically important find.

I already have mixed feelings about posting significant finds - although I do enjoy reading about the finds.
