I did not find this, wish that I had, but it was found by an older gentleman that I know.

It is solid and heavy, bronze I believe and partially melted. The scrip is reversed, so I believe it is a die of some sort. Here is where it gets odd. It came from "Robeson County" in NC, but the script says "Robinson Co..." Floral is the name of a small town (crossroads) nearby.

There is an all seeing eye and an oil lamp on it, which makes me think, Masonic Temple stuff, but I am just not sure.

Any input is most appreciated.

You can do it DCM!

Looks like either a stamp or wax seal.

I would say a type of seal. To print it would have to have raised letters. which it doesn't. Tony

Pretty sure it is an embosser for documents.

I recognize the "all seeing eye", but what is the image in the middle of the piece? Fountain? Fern? Palm tree? Can't figure it...

The letters at the bottom say "INS". INSURANCE? Can't seem to find anything on the net...

Hey DCM... I thought "fountain" when I saw it... then oil lamp came to mind. Cast out the darkness of ignorance, with the truth of light...

I appreciate the input.

I get where you're going with the lamp, but I think its a fountain - maybe the fountain of knowledge?

Anyway, I found a couple of references to professional organizations in the early 20th C having Floral Divisions (two were railroad related). Also some city government park services having floral divisions. But I couldn't tie any of them to your item or to the Masons.

Maybe the missing words would provide an additional clue but I guess we'll never know...
