Started out the day very slow hiking miles of an old property looking for a suspected old home site according to the property owner. Not a thing was found in the targeted area so we headed back to another spot of high ground. We immediately came over a large area loaded with iron and eventually some old foundation stones and a small brick pile. Bingo we had found an old homesite. After an hour or so of digging I came onto this pistol inside the footprint of the old home. Left hidden in the floorboards and forgotten maybe? Either way I’m thrilled to have found it!

Congrats! Old pistols seem to have a certain mystique about them!

Great FIND :) Thank you for sharing with us :)

Very cool!

The apparently metal ribbon folded into a bow is interesting too. Is that a broach?
Yes it is and the clasp still and part if the pin in it still.
