Frenchy Marc finally made it to my area to do some detecting and even though my regular digging bud and I weren't looking to abuse him ...we did, had to. Yesterday we had a couple of fields in mind, got an early start, grabbed some coffee and made our way to the spot.

Note.... We did an hour hunt the night before and being in a rush I forgot my shovel which Marc said was going to be fuel for his post... well that changed... it no longer mattered. :laughing7:

So we arrive at the first site, drink the coffee, and I cross the ditch into the field and wait for Marc. I turn around to see him lose his footing and the detector & shovel go flying and him fall completely stretched out at my feet... not to mention seeing the great fear in his eyes. :D Holy %&#%! I laughed and it carried into the next day.... just about once an hour. The only thing that could have made it funnier is if I would have called him out as if he was sliding into third base. :D :laughing7: :D

Unfortunately "Face Plant Field" didn't work out for finds so we moved on to idea 2... which did. :headbang:

Man did we have a blast.... coffee, pizza, beer, rum, old finds and one banged up Frenchmen! ;D

The finds are... couple 1800s Tokens, an 1814 Great Britain which is a first for me, cut George III copper & 1806 large George III Penny, buttons, thimbles, musket part, bullet, musket balls etc..

Kirk PA... please see if you can ID the last coin. I think it might be one of those rare 1870 Tiffin tokens.

Finally, I didn't think you were going to find anything good this year. ;D Congrats on a good hunt and a awesome silver! That's a lot of buttons that's a years worth for me. Cant wait to see what comes from your other sites.

Why stick that lousy cob on the banner when that Tiffin Token could go up there? :laughing7:

Seriously, that's one helluva hunt guys. Your finds are Top Notch.

Regards,

Buck

Fantastic Finds!! I am jealous...I get a new V3 and a new job in the same week...I have not been able to take it out yet, so all I can do is stare at this amazing post and dream!

Congratulations on making the BANNER Iron Patch :icon_thumleft:

And I understand with a Coin that's quite scarce from your patch of turf :o doubly pleasing :icon_thumleft:

SS

Yes, fairly scarce and only turn up at the oldest settlements. Someone detecting for 20 years here and not finding a single one would not be a surprise.

Awesome!
Congrats on your Banner finds

I would often say more if I wasn't so lost for words when I see finds like this. :notworthy:
Congratulations on your BANNER Treasure :headbang:

Awesome Banner Cob :icon_king:

Nice coins, buttons and relics :hello2: Had expected a Banner button from you Iron Patch and then you pull that beautiful Cob

Congrats on making the banner IP!. I'd say you were long over due for a hunt like that one. Maybe a return visit will produce some nice colonial buttons or maybe even a rev. war relic.............like a belt plate!.

I have some good early ideas for the next two months so don't rule out a banner button yet! (I did find an early pewter military yesterday but it's far from banner worthy)

PS... The spot all the stuff came from above, the same field gave up 12 Rev War pewters at the bottom. All these finds were mid. field and I could not find a single old military button. Think my count was about to 0/50. Those numbers almost always give me one! Yesterday I was at a different place and was 1/3. Go figure.

IP,
Congrats on some great finds and for making the banner.

I found my first Spanish Cob a few months back and now it is my avatar.

I have all the time in the world ;D

That is if this new Eco Fertilizer doesn't take off :(

Funny that cobb may have a direct link to my G G G G Grandfather.... that hunt should hold interesting...

It is definitely connected to your ancestors as there was probably just the only family.

IH and I will be out tomorrow, just hope we don't strike out on our plan and get pushed there! :)

come on IP,that cob belongs to Patriot!! Dont be such a meanie! :laughing9:

Ok, I'll pack it in the box with your seal to send him. (The cob is only likely, the seal is 100% connected no question) Deal?
