Making us obsolete

It's sad. They're right of 'what' they're saying but not at all. Treasure hunter help them when they need us.

Then why don't they get off their lily white butts and into the water instead of sitting on them and preaching bull...? Same thing in Florida. These "archeologically valuable" wrecks are rapidly deteriorating right under their arrogant noses. If they're so damned concerned, why aren't THEY out searching?

I know, money and lack of know how.

BTW, I KNOW firsthand most of these archeological bozos wouldn't know a ships keel if they saw it.

What a pathetic bunch!

That treasure hunters corner is a brain fart in my opinion.
Instead of opening a dialog to make the rapport better...
they stick a foot in it and close it completely.

How arrogant can they get?
lets watch.

I would just love to give them something to complain about. They obviously don't realize how important the treasure hunting community has been to the preservation and the actual exploration and recovery of a vast amounts of the worlds artifacts located in museums around the world. I wish someone would do a study on that little known fact.
But if you want I will give you a taste of what you say is happening, how about I go out and start blowing up every frigging wreck I come across, and actually do what they say we are doing, maybe I get a list of all these sites they are hording and maybe I start blowing them to kingdom come, maybe we need a poster boy for what it is they think is happening and maybe give them a reason to actually have something to complain about...then they would see how good it really is and that the bullsh#t that they are pedaling was just that bullsh*t.

Or better yet, I would love to start raiding the residences of these so called archeologist that work at state universities...I have first hand knowledge of a few of these buttheads that have their own private little collection, like that's OK cause I'm a professional preserver of provenance was the response i received when i questioned a guy i met back in1985 in NJ while i was taking and underwater archie class I almost flipped out on the guy , but was persuaded to let it go. How about I start robbing these bassturds homes and then what they go to call the cops and say" the stuff i stole off of the wreck site I'am working on was stolen from me"...sorry for ranting and raving just frustrated at the current and ongoing state of affairs we are left to deal with.

And I must say that I'am the only one who has even mentioned this type of approach as a possibility, which says a lot for the treasure hunting community in general....but if you are going to call me a destroyer of provenance than by God I'm going to be a destroyer of Provenance.

A better way to show the incompetence level they function at would be,
to take the list of sites and publish it monthly with a progress report,
site by site.
With a competency poll each month for the public to vote on.

They will either have to respond and start doing something,
or risk further scrutiny by the public as the lazy money wasting bunch that they are.
with no grounds for complaint.

Well I must admit that is a much better approach than the ideas i came up with.
I feel like there are guy's out there like me that just need the proper guidance and direction .

Limo Bob, let me tell you first that you are not the first to mention this type of approach to treasure hunting. We are all considered pirates here at Tnet. Second, I could tell you archie horror stories like the state archie that took his students to a site and the next day his students looted the site. Or the archaeologist that recovered artifacts only to have them rot and crumble to dust at the University because they didn't have a conservation lab! There's much more but I can't mention detalis here or else the archies will have me arrested. :help:

Salvor6 is right on!!!! I've been at this for a very long time and the horror stories about the professional archaeologists could fill volumes. They give a whole new meaning to "Hypocrisy".

Show me an archie that does not have a personal collection squirreled away. Show me an archie that doesn't keep "backup files" stashed away. Show me a museum, private, state or national that can account for every artifact that is supposed to be in their vaults and warehouses. Show me an archie working for a big company that has honestly evaluated a site and told his bosses that they could not go through with a multi million dollar project because it has significant archaeological value and I'll show you an Archie out looking for a job.

The list goes on into infinity. I think I'll stop now before I get into trouble....lol.

:icon_pirat: Captn' Jack said it when someone said he wasn't playing fair; "PIRATE!" :icon_pirat: :laughing9: :hello2: I wonder where that treasure went to? :icon_scratch: :dontknow:
I'm sure I sent it back on that old wooden sailboat six weeks ago. Didn't you get it yet? Sheesh, I'll have to go out and see if I can locate the sailboat for you. Do you want to offer me a finder's fee should I relocate it? :icon_pirat: "PIRATE!" :laughing9: :laughing9:

Where's Me Grog? :coffee2:

During this economic down turn as states are cutting back on personnel and supplies, may I suggest some letter writing campaigns to state legislatures suggesting some un-necessary state employee positions ?

Another very good idea.

They say do it responsibly????
