Making a DIY shaker table

Nice design. Good luck.

Well, the drive motor is about $120, shipped, so start there. I'd say the rest depends mostly on your skill level and tools available. Maybe another $200 in materials. It's hard to be more precise. Let's call it $400, but you could spend a lot more if you had to hire a lot of the work done.

For us "small" miners, the unit you want is a wave table. I've been planning on building one, and doing plans and pics, but just haven't had time to get to it. In effect, a wave table is like a shaker table, but without the sideways tilt.....it works linearly. Quite a bit simpler to build, and probably lower cost. Sooner or later, I'll get to that project. I'm currently rebuilding a monster post drill (almost finished), and then I need to build a small jaw crusher. I'm also trying to get ready for showing the Sweep Jig at a couple of gold shows next spring, so have that to get done, too. Sure glad I "retired"....LOL

Went with building a miller table instead of a shaker table. Its working perfect on minus 20 to minus 100 mesh :) 004.JPG

Remember the shaker table does two jobs for the hardrock miner, it is how we get our pulp cleaned of the slimes from ground rock, and concentrates our heavys, they use much water to do this job, and are more for production, running a lot of material, not really for recovery of a few single pieces of gold although it would work just not efficient.

That’s great, enjoy!

Does your deposit have gold smaller than 100 mesh? Does your gear catch it? How do you clean it?

These (magnified) minus 100s were caught on the table,Their so small they float .As far as cleaning goes the table gets rid of all 'other material' w/in seconds. For extremely small (minus 2-300 size) they don't make it past the slot on the table. 005.JPG

Excellent. That’s what you want to see.

BTW anything under about 40 mesh will float depending on water hardness, temp, etc unless you use something to break surface tension. (I.E. Jetdry)

Pretty cool on the top left. Almost a perfectly Heart shaped small picker :) 007.JPG
