So I'm a little embarrassed here but I don't know how to post pics with my iphone. I'm dying to post my first treasures. Help :-)

So here is my silver spoon. And my mystery item. This spoon company was around until about 1830 so it's definitely old. This is a very old location that I was hunting. No clue what the heart shaped item is? And thank you for telling me how to attach pics from my phone. Better with my T2 than my other devices :-)

Hey thank you I appreciate that info. I was only able to spend about 15 minutes at this site so I'm excited to go back. Living in Midcoast Maine there are lots of desolate areas and tons of old stone foundation remnants. My family also owns a camp that we've had since. 1840. It was built as a hunting/fishing lodge and a train used to stop there. Can't wait to hit it. Sorry I'm babbling, just excited to be hunting again and to find this great forum. Thanks again :-)

Nice finds.Good luck with that spot.HH.

Hey thanks guys! I'm super excited to be on this great site. It's really cool to be able to share your finds with people who "get it" and to see all of the great "treasures" that others have found. My girlfriend isn't quite as excited as the people on this site :-)The whole idea of pulling this history from the earth has always intrigued me and I'm totally addicted. I've been researching some of the shipwrecks here in Maine in the 1500s. Wish I had more time but I appreciate every second I'm out there

For some weird reason this tends to be more of a guy addiction , I have also noticed that coin collecting is way more attractive to guys
I really don't understand this but I'd love to hear from some ladies as to why this is the case !

I have a heal plate just like that one. I was told it belonged to a prostitute. Interested clients would follow the hearts back to her place of business. I have no idea if that is true or not, but it makes for a good story.

Now that is a fantastic story and I think I'm gonna stick with that :-). This was far out in the Maine woods but I guess you never know huh. Thanks for the great story. Found a silver spoon there too so business must have been good :-)

Just found this online. Not sure of the validity but wanted to share this. Mine is in remarkably good condition like it may have never been used.

There are very few spouses/partners out there that share the level of interest & excitement in this hobby as we do. Get used to it. If you're lucky she's easily placated by some shiny jewelry or valuable coinage, which isn't too far in your future.

At least she's nice enough to pretend she's excited. But I can't picture her digging in the dirt with me. Anyway, she has no problem with my hobby. There are worse things to be addicted to. Hopefully soon I will find some of that shiny jewelry you speak of :-)
