We got out again today, trying to finish the year out strong, lol. The day started kinda slow gaining permissions.

We ended up getting one, which ended up being a bust. But while heading back to the truck we noticed an old log cabin, on a different property but the yard bordered the field we had gained permission.

My buddy ended up finding a kg3 copper and an indian head penny next to the yard. I got skunked, except for about 20 lbs of can slaw for some reason.

After that we headed to some fields outside a town that was settled around 1720. We had permissions from back in the spring we wanted to explore. We ended up finding an undocumented homesite at the mouth of a spring that ran through the field. Only had about 2 hours till dark but found some nice items. Definitely going back! 11 buttons, some fancy, and a 1808 largie.

Your large cent looks like it is in pretty good shape and that is a nice variety of buttons as well. That site has a lot of potential. Congratulations on nice hunt. Good luck, stay safe and keep swingin.

Nice early large cent. The mint had only been in operation 15 yrs when that was minted. Possibly made by some of the original mint employees. Amazing history.
