i was finally able to get back to the site of the deolished house, and still searching for that elusive silver! I spent most of 3 hoursthere before it began to get dark and still culd not find a silver coin. I found pieces of broken toys and a few more glass marbles layong loose on the surface (after a recent rain uncovered I supose). The only coin I found was a 1942 wheat penny. This is the third wheat penny I have found in the site, all three being of Circa WWII. This would leasd me to beliee that if I do nid any coins besides wheaties they could very well be of that same era. Very frustrtig to date but will go back again if the weather holds, Went out of town over the wekend but will be back at it next week

I don't know how long the old house was there but most of the things of interest I have been finding are around WWII era. There is just so many targets of unknown origin to dig I don't know if I will get to all of them before something is built on the site. It is in an old residential area which is rebuilding into commercial.

Dig it up as fast as you can before they develop it and build - "it's now or never!"

Keep us posted!

Hunt in all metal a dig like crazy! If there are wheaties there, there is silver too! Keep us posted, and good luck!!!

Made another trip to the demo houses this am, 3/28/05. Still no silver, found clad , two dimes and three pennies, one marble on top and a rather unique railroad signal lock. The lock is broken, but it is a Santa Fe Keen Kutter lock. Cast brass with lever hiding keyhole. The Santa Fe Railroad use to run along the street the site is on. Found a picture of the lock at http://www.railroadiana.org/pgLocks.shtml .

I agree. Where there's wheaties there's a good chance of silver. All the trash is masking it. Dig the trash! GO! GO! GO! :)

On a lighter note, I dug a very deep signal which turned out to be about a foot and a half down. It was a piece of scrap aluminum that was sitting on top of a plastic bag with the top neatly tied in a knot. I was thinking cache! Nope, a dead cat in a bag! ;D ;D I reburied it after I said a few choice words over the grave. :-\ :-\

hahahahaha!!!! that wasnt a cache that was a CATCHE!!!
