M6 verses DFX pre-programed modes

here's my 2 cents, I have an M6, I have a friend that hunts with a DFX...in digging targets the M6 hangs right with the DFX for depth, Target ID and pinpoint, from my observations and use of both the M6 and the DFX, aside from the relic,prospect...the M6 is every bit as strong and reliable as the DFX....I would say the M6 is a DFX minus the modes

Thanks rommelvon,
I have never had a chance to use the M6. So I really appreciate your input. I am also wondering if the target responce and reset is any faster than the DFX; given that there are fewer electronics involve in each target responce?

The M6 is the newest model and has a little bit better ground balance program than the DFX or MXT models. A better ground balance will get better depth and better target indentification on the meter.

As for preprogrammed modes.....if you do lots of tinkering with your detector, somebody with an M6 might just ground balance and beat you to a nice old coin while you are setting up your programming with a DFX or MXT......

(Years ago, I had an old model that had 6 adjustment knobs to get it set up to detect..top of the line White's...a friend had a cheaper detector with 2 knobs..a cheaper Fisher.......he set his and started detecting and got a nice old silver coin...betfore I got mine ready to detect......but I did beat him on depth of a find..... :P :P)

Thanks Dimeman, I own a DFX and that is what has kind of been going through my head. Steve
