I went to lunch with a co-worker today downtown. After we ate I realized I had some time to do some detecting before getting back to work. So I found a little area that I hadn't covered before . . . . . after digging a clad quarter and a couple Memorial cents I got a nice 90-92 VDI reading on my XLT. . . . pinpointed at 6 inches deep . . . . assuming it was a big piece of junk but hoping for treaure I dug real careful like . . . . . . . . out popped a 1944-S Walking Liberty Half!! WOOHOOO ~ and I didn't scratch it!

Dirty from being in the ground I didn't think much about the condition . . . . . I got home and gently cleaned it up . . . . .I'm glad I decided to take a picture of it before I cleaned it ~ WOW, she sure is pretty! It's cool to see the difference in the before & after pictures.

It's the nicest Walker I've ever found! It's actually only the third Walker I've ever dug.

Thanks for looking

Nice find,

I love to see a half in a hole.

HH Jer

Great lady Odd....
It seems to me that most of the walkers found are either 43'-44' range.
Guess cause it was wartime...I don't know.....

Keep safe...

Keith

Beautiful lady you found there OC!! Does finding something good on lunch hr. make your day go faster( because all you think about is the find) or slower( because you want to hurry up and get out of there and detect that spot a little more)? Lol I;d say slower. HH Tom P.S. Hit it again she might have a twin waiting for you

Still looking for my first "Big Silver." I have found no silver halfs and no silver dollars.

Great find,

Keep @ it and HH!!

How did you finish the rest of the day without floating away on cloud 9? Wait.... a coin that big in the pocket is the answer! Good find! TTC

That walker is sweeet
Great find OC

I think it made my day seem to go by faster because I was all jazzed about it!

The only other old coin I found there was a 1944 wheat cent.

Awesome job bud!!!
