The weekend started out pretty good! I picked up two boxes on Friday from a new source (bank) and they produced 5 Walkers, 2 Franklin's, 1 90% Kennedy and 13 40%ers. Saturday morning I decided to go to another county for a little road trip. I hit about 10 banks and only found a few 40%'ers. I stopped at a Wells Fargo and asked if they had any halves or large dollars as I showed her an example of each. She had a few and then she proceeded to ask all the other tellers if they had any. The gal next to her said "I have some, but they're old", I said I would take all they had no matter how old they are! She was glad to get rid of them. She had been hanging on to them for three months. I was amazed to see that the 13 rolls she gave me were solid silver!!! Check out the pics! Here is what was in there plus 3 40% I found separately:

Barbers = 1, Walkers = 50, Franklin's = 99, 90% Kennedy's = 70, 40% = 43.

Barbers: 1901 x 1

Walkers:1923 x 1, 1927 x 1, 1933 x 1, 1934 x 1, 1935 x 2, 1936 x 3, 1938 x 1, 1939 x 3, 1940 x 3, 1941 x 5,
1942 x 8, 1943 x 6, 1944 x 8, 1945 x 3, 1946 x 3, 1947 x 1

Franklin's:1950 x 1, 1951 x 5, 1952 x 9, 1953 x 6, 1954 x 15, 1956 x 1, 1957 x 10, 1958 x 8, 1959 x 6, 1960 x 9, 1961 x 7, 1962 x 11, 1963 x 11

Kennedy's:1964 x 70, 1965 x 5, 1966 x 3, 1967 x 7, 1968 x 24, 1969 x 4

Thanks for looking!!

I dream of stuff like that!! Too COOL!!! ;D Wish my area had a nice teller like that. I went to one bank today and the teller slyly takes the two silvers out as she is counting and sets them aside. Lots of people waiting in line so I didn't make a scene. Just never go there again. She missed the 1966 I got so not bad for just a few dollars worth but if only I could find the mother load like that!!

Holy Moly!!!!
Nice score, dude!!!!
Dream find!
Congratulations!!!!

awful nice of you to get rid of all those "old" unwanted half dollars for them ;D ;D ;D
what a nice guy ::) ::) ::) happily for you those dingbats never had a clue :D :D :D Ivan

That happened to me one time.........but than my alarm went off. 8)

Great finds and congrats !

Great find! Those are the finds we dream about. What are the mint marks of the Barber and the 38?

That is a nice way to start off the month.

Mark, that is great. Persistence paid off. You know i would have hit that bank sooner or later. ;D Glad you got there before someone else.

(for those that don't know, Mark and I are almost neighbors. He lives about 20-25 miles from me but works in the next town over from where I live. He even gets my already searched (& marked) coins :P )

Great haul! :) :)

OMG SCM.......what a hit....grandslam!!!! Congrats on all of them but especially the Barber.

Yes, as the other have said....that is a dream. Thanks for the pictures.....That has re-energized me....lol. Keep em coming.....

Mark, at today's rate of $13.35 your face value of $131.50 is worth $1147.21 ;D ;D ;D

Not bad for a quick stop at a bank.

Was this bank any where near a retirement village?

..........and that's just the investor (read silver) value. Depending upon the mintmarks and conditions of the coins, the numismatic (read collector) value will only be higher.

Again, most excellent find !
