Love a little help with this one

Looks like a "Thaler" coin...
Someone should chime in on this shortly.

Also found this little guy. Couldn't help myself and had to go back after the kids went to bed.

Tnet has some outstanding coin knowledgeable folks.

Seems like I have seen this coin somewhere... but heck I cannot place it.
It will be interesting to see what you have found...
And I do suspect that if you dug this coin it will possibly qualify for a banner... we will see.
Good luck. :)

Navy button is early 1800's, 1st quarter of the century I believe. For some reason I'm thinking the coin is Swedish.

I think I found an exact match for each side of that coin. Problem was, they weren't on the SAME coin! :BangHead:

I gotta stop. Probably gonna have to unplug this PC for a few days in order to not go over my data limit. ...It's not looking good so far!

I'm thinking Spanish. 17th century

What were they? They would surely still be from the same time and place.
But, since I don't know coins, to me it looks like play money, except it appears to be copper (is that correct?).

Don...
I believe you nailed it... err I think :).... bet that you have.

Super cool coin..
And superb id.
Well done on the killer coin... I think this would definitely qualify for a banner. IMO.

We should do banners for I.D's as well... heh...
Then I could say...
"Banner for both"
Like...
Banners on sale...

DOGO...

= Dig One Get One

:P

Piggly Wiggly have a sale on "Enhanced with ADDED SUGAR" Kool Aid or something? :laughing7:

Thanks all for the help. Headed back there now for a quickie. Blows my mind the journey this coin made. Kind of like the Byzantine cup coin my buddy found last winter
