My buddy Wayne called me early Saturday morning to tell me that there was a used White's Spectum XLT for sale in the classified in our local newspaper. The seller only wanted $250 for the detector, with two extra coils, and three rechargable battery packs.
So I called the guy to see if it was still available, and it was! The guy held it for me and I took the 20 mile drive to go pick it up on Sunday.
The guy told me that he bought the XLT new in 1997 or 1998. Then he bought a DFX in 2002 and hasn't used the XLT since then. He gave the XLT to his wife to use, but she liked her Garrett too much to give it up. So the XLT has sat for several years ~ it looks almost brand new!
I took it out to test it tonight after work ~ she works great! Here's what I dug:
10 clad quarters
28 clad dimes
7 nickels
115 memorial cents
small sterling ring
car wash token
