I went out this morning to a couple different parks and found LOTS of coins.. I found 106 coins in just three hours. The oldest one was a 1941 nickel. It's rare that I find anything less than the 1950's. Here on the West Coast a good find for us is jewelry and seldom an old coin. The oldest coin I've ever found was an IH dated 1887. That date is two years before Washington became a state! I did find a cache of clad coins ($76.62) on my first day detecting! I'll tell you the story sometime when I have more time...
