Lots of Chalcedony!

I found quite a few pieces of Chalcedony today. Blue/Grey/White mainly. This stuff comes in boulders here. The large piece here is easily 25 lbs.









The attached photo is a rough Amethyst I found today.

Congrats!

I often wonder what some of the small rocks I find are. Some have that opaque smoky purple color with white.

I'm learning that if it looks interesting, pick it up! It may just be worth the haul back home. Anything with a sheen, shiny, flaky, translucent, transparent etc.

I started a cut on a random piece.

Some petrified wood I found in the same area. I made a simple cut and started roughing it for polishing. Awesome stuff!
